PPE (POLYPROPYLENE) Geomembranes
Polypropylene based geomembrane material offers outstanding
performance in a variety of environmental containment applications.
Polypropylene is a cost effective alternative to polyethylene for
exposed or buried applications including reservoir, waste water
or landfill liner, industrial or hazardous covers.
Polypropylene is a highly inert thermoplastic polymer. Polypropylene
has very low levels of crystallinity when compared to polyethylene.
This lower crystallinity eliminates most of the problems that are
attributed to polyethylene such as ESCR, low large scale multi-axial
stress elongation and dimensional stability. Polypropylene geomembranes
and liners remain flexible in a variety of temperatures, and easy
to seam and factory fabricate into large panels.
Polypropylene is highly chemical resistant and withstands prolonged
exposure to many of the effluents normally found in industry. It
has demonstrated outstanding performance when exposed to aqueous
solutions such as 'black liquor' ponds found at paper mills.
Polypropylene does not stress crack (ESCR) and is thus suitable
for installation in a variety of climates and terrains. It is reinforced
with a rugged polyester scrim for enhanced dimensional stability,
tear and puncture resistance.
A standard weathering warranty is available upon acceptance of
the project by the supplier technical department.
Our Polypropylene based geomembrane offers outstanding features:
Temperature Tolerant- Greater design flexibility is a primary
benefit of the reinforced polypropylene. The geomembrane has a low
coefficient of linear thermal expansion and contraction, responding
to wide temperature swings without seam failure or stress cracking.
It remains flexible in a wide range of temperatures. It can be installed
in applications where the operating temperature can fluctuate by
up to 100F. In cold climates, where temperature can drop well below
freezing, the material conforms easily to the contours of the installation
and remains easy to seam with hot air or wedge welder.
Reliable Seams- The performance
of any geomembrane liner or cover is only as good as its seams.
Water-tight seams can be made using hot air or hot wedge type welder.
Polypropylene offers the widest sealing range in the industry. As
a heat weldable product it demonstrates outstanding peel and shear
strength results when seamed in a variety of installation environments.
Easy to Install and Repair- Polypropylene
geomembrane is shipped to the job site in large prefabricated panels
that are accordion folded and rolled for ease of placement and less
field seaming. Repairs, due to mechanical damage, are easy to make
by a trained maintenance crew, without the need for specialized
technicians and equipment.
Outstanding Chemical Resistance-
Polypropylene geomembrane is resistant to a wide range of chemicals
and aqueous solutions found in industrial impoundments and municipal
solid waste landfills. The material exhibits virtually no change
in physical properties after 120 day immersion testing, at elevated
temperatures, in a wide range of chemicals and waste water streams.

analysis information.
Excellent Ultraviolet Resistance-
In Xenon Arc, Weatherometer and Emmaqua testing Polypropylene geomembrane
has demonstrated excellent resistance to the sun's ultraviolet rays,
one of the most destructive forces degrading competitive geomembranes.
A dependable barrier- Polypropylene
geomembrane forms a highly impenetrable barrier, inhibiting moisture
and gas transmissivity through the membrane. The material meets
the transmissivity requirement for most state and county codes for
municipal solid waste landfills.
Product line- Engineered Textile Products, Inc. also fabricates
and installs, PVC, and Evaloy materials.
